Speculation has been running wild since Capcom registered Mega Man 9 as a trademark a few weeks ago. Well now some early scans of the next Nintendo Power have arrived, and they announce that Mega Man 9 is coming to WiiWare. Not only is it a completely new Mega Man game, but it's done in the 8-bit graphic and sound style of the original NES titles! It will, however, feature some hallmarks of modern gaming, like a more involved story, with full cutscenes all done in the same 8-bit style.

i`ve read about this. it should be good. although i am suprised that capcom didn`t use the idea of making mega man a 3D platformer much like nintendo`s new super mario bros on the ds. also i hear that it`ll be the first downloadable game across all current gen home consoles.
Actually it turns out that was just a rumour, it's still a Wii exclusive (officially at least). I'll probably get it, if it does come out on both PS3 and Wii I'll just get whichever version is cheaper.
I like it 32-bit, like the 1997 version of Mega Man! I wish Capcom can make a tag system so you can switch players by tagging! The button diamond has been used in Mega Man games since 1995, so I want to use the button diamond again in this Mega Man game releasing in 2009!

It's now officially multiplatform http://kotaku.com/5024083/mega-man-9-is-coming-to-360-ps3 which is hardly a surprise. I mean they were never going to pass up on more money.

Will it be 32-bit? Will it be Classic-Controller compatible? I want to bring back 1997 Mega Man memories!

No! The number 9 means 2009! The classic controller is best for Mega Man games!

No! It's almost reaching 2009, so the number 9 in Mega Man 9 means 2009!
