Re: Wii's successor system
Nintendo Co., Ltd. has decided to launch in 2012 a system to succeed Wii, which the company has sold 86.01 million units on a consolidated shipment basis between its launch in 2006 and the end of March 2011.
We will show a playable model of the new system and announce more specifications at the E3 Expo, which will be held June 7-9, 2011, in Los Angeles.
Sales of this new system have not been included in the financial forecasts announced today for the fiscal term ending March 2012.
Wait! I have too many games left to complete! lol
On the upside, I tend to (have to) wait for a price
drop, so I should be okay. ...Tho way behind on
making the new miis? :/
Well, the question of mii integration seems to be at least partly resolved. This video demo of Chase Mii shows miis which have parts only previously available on the 3DS... but also shows no pieces that are completely new. So it seems the Wii U will have the same upgraded mii editor as featured on the 3DS.
The miis are also wearing costumes (Mario and Toad in this case) but whether these will be available at all times or just in this software is not mentioned.
Great stuff! I won't have to share the T.V. w/ the Mrs.. I hope they put out Fatal Frame!!! The controls would be perfect(use the controller as your camera view, like in the baseball pitching/catching vid)!

I am not so impressed by Wii U... I somehow anticipated something more revolutionary. It's too much of an only upgraded Wii for me... it even has the word 'Wii' still in its "new" name...
But, nevertheless, I think it will be good :)
