i do belive there is a god in all of us ,i dont believe there is heaven but we like to believe it
-Ray, when someone asks you if you're a god, you say "YES"!
ghostbusters
if you`re going to ask such a question ben. just be open for any kind of answer. not everybofy belives the in same things. so please, if anybody wishes to post an answer, don`t disrespect somebody else`s point of view. we are bombarded with different kinds of information from many different people, cultures, beleifs, so it`s only down to one`s self to truely make a judgement in what you truely believe.
so my point is, if you don`t agree with somebody else`s view on this thread, keep it to your self and don`t use it as an excuse to hearl abuse or start arguments because an opinion is not the ssme as your own.

yes i believe theres a 'god'.
i do not however believe that there's a heaven or hell.
i also dont believe that we have to worship 'god' in order for us go to this so called 'heaven'.
i believe god and religion is something people use to look towards and to explain the unexplainable.
personally, i believe without religion the world would have more peace and less fighting. alot of conflicts start because of different views in religion.
so as for me, yes theres a god, but no i dont 'worship' him or her, and no i do not 'devote' myself to religion.
some people think im satanic or atheist, but for starters im not satanic cuz i also believe theres no devil. im not atheist because well there is a god but i choose to not devote myself to him or her or religion at all for that matter.
as for schools and science, science has proven to us how life on earth got started. evolution has pretty much been proven and theres no denying that. how the universe got started though could be from the big bang, or god could have created it, that it still unknown. otherwise science teachers are fine teaching evolution and some of those ideas because they have been proven and have scientific fact to back them up. but if the teacher is talking about things that dont have proof behind them, then thats wrong and they can be fired for that.
otherwise, i dont think that people should argue or put down anyones views on religion, because people are allowed to believe what they want, some people turn to religion when times are hard, others turn to it to explain what they dont understand, and others just dont care and live life just to enjoy it and live. so please people, dont put down others beliefs, its theirs and their own.
however im willing to discuss or have a FRIENDLY (KEY WORD) debate about religion, god, beliefs or whatnot, but nothing that would upset or offend anyone. so feel free to debate with me or prove to me why i should become religious, i'd love to hear!

ur totally right. we have to respect god and other people's opinion. we may disagree but we can't argue or make fun of this.
I will try to avoid a fight. I will just give my flat out answer : No. I have many points, and I find this discussion fascinating. I am in fact considering majoring in Religious Studies. I will not argue here though.
I've studied the Bible for many many years and will continue to do so in many years to come.
Quote Matt: as for schools and science, science has proven to us how life on earth got started. evolution has pretty much been proven and theres no denying that.
I would like to clarify right here to all the readers that the theory of evolution has not been proven whatsoever. It is one of the most dubious and uncompleted theories known to man. I am willing to have a scientific conversation about evolution if anyone has any questions about it. However, I do not want this to turn into a personal flame war.

ya i have had a conversation with a friend of mine how evelution has not been proven...but the question is why is it so widely come back on...there is no way humens could just become.... there had to be something to make it and that was god
Josean, please close down this thread. PLEASE. This could stir up a lot of fighting and controversey. Sadly not everyone respects others' religious views. This is FAR from what this site is meant for.
Seriosuly, is anyone having fun on this thread? Is this not a fun website?
There are other places for opinion debate, especially in terms of religion.

Well, my only point about science and religion is that they aren't mutually exclusive: there's room for both. If you believe in God, then all science does is help you understand how the universe that he made works.
I mean, even the most passionately religious person uses the products of science every day: it's at the heart of the food we eat, the comforts we enjoy...the Wiis that we use to create Miis, and this very website.
And if it weren't for science, and we all just believed everything the Church said, we'd still think the earth was the center of the universe and the sun revolved around it.

I agree with this statement.
Although the Bible is not a science book, it is scientifically exact.
The Bible talks about the round earth, how the earth floats above nothing, about the water cycle and other scientific facts that were discovered hundreds, if not thousands of years later.
Taking anything for granted is never good, be it what a religious leader tells you or what a scientist tells you.
Please, keep these opinions to yourselves. They really can be hurtful. Nobody came to this site to discuss religious views. Especially not me. You are all stating these views as though they are fact. Please do not do this. For now, they are nothing more than opinion. It's very hard for me to keep my mouth shut about religion. I do it only as a matter of politeness. I have so many arguments to make, but I will not.
This is rediculaus!! this forum will start a whole flame war and rip this site apart!!! just close this thing before it causes the downfall of miiplaza.net!!!!Please!!!!
if nobody feels they can have a reasonable debat about such a topic as god and religion then yes i`m for putting a close to this thread, from what i`ve read so far, nobody has come to blows yet. but it does have potential for heated confrontation, which nobody here really wants. maybe if everybody can keep things civilised then i cant see no reason to shut the thread.
if anybody feels the need to confront somebody else`s beliefs on this matter, dont type anything and just walk away from the computer/wii, and dont involve yourself with the rest of the discusion.

Religion is, in my Opinion, One of Them.

Heaven, sure, hell I'm not sure about because if God forgives people for their sins I would think there wouldn't be a need for one.
Not an active church goer, I feel it's rather boring and see no point in going when I can just read up on the bible at home :/

I never understand where some people get this idea that science is anti-God. It's not.
