This whole thread is about money. I mentioned the Iraq war in the context of the money we'll have next year to use for other things. If your comment about the troops still over there wasn't in regard to money, then I don't know why the heck you brought it up.

About which your primary objection seems to be the money involved, no? Your very first post called it "a bunch of meaningless spending". Hence, at its core, the thread is about money.

Dude, not to be insensitive, because I'm sure you work hard to earn your money...but if you actually do make that kind of cash, it's doubtful that the slight increase you'll see is going to make much of a dent in your lifestyle. And since the Republicans have been giving people in your tax bracket the greatest number of tax cuts since the 80s, you can think of it as things going back to normal.

I know it doesnt bother me Thats why I said who cares. I just feel that we the people who work hard for our money should choose where our tax dollars should go on an individual basis. I would rather my taxes go to schools and transpotation

Agreed. Our education system is in serious need of help, and the problem has been ignored for too long. We're falling behind China, Europe and other places, and if we let that happen, a lot of people don't realize that our position as the world's technological and financial leader is something which is absolutely possible to lose and never get back.

well, anyway. Though one could say America needs the money, let's face it: American roads suck. So does our football players teaching history class. Plus, it's hard to get a bus, like, anywhere in Seattle. I'd love to see a better educational system, along with a health system that lets in hobos. I am somewhat skeptical, though, how much of that something-trillion USD is going to be spent on CEO's and security cameras.
