A classic, repacked and skinned, and really, it's pretty fricking awesome - even for nostalgia. A good remix, and probably a better alternative to the VC game.

A great port from the 64 with all the enjoyable gameplay from the original but better graphics and more stars!
This game is a perfect hand held version of the game super Mario 64 for the N64.Lets talk about the story first though. This story starts off like the previous story. Peach invites Mario over to have some cake. But, this time he brings both Luigi and Wario with him. But, after a while Lakuta (the cameraman from the last game) notices Mario and his companions have been in the castle for a very long time and goes to warn Yoshi who is sleeping on the roof. After Yoshi heres what Lakuta has to say he goes in the castle and starts to look for his friends. Most of the levels are about the same as they were in the previous game with a little more things here and there. In the Nintendo DS version of the game features a total of 4 playable characters Mario,Luigi,Yoshi, and Wario. This game also features more stars than the original version had. There were a total of 120 stars in the previous game, in this game there is 150 stars. The game also features 3 more bosses that weren't available in the previous version of the game, but I'm not gonna tell you who the new bosses are. Also, This game doesn't feature the power caps from the first game. But, instead features Power Flowers which give certain characters certain abilities. So In my final thoughts of this game it's a hand held version of super Mario 64 with extra characters and stars and is a perfect first game for the Nintendo DS that is capable of showing of the DS's 3D capabilities.

5 stars!! a great game!
An OK rehash, not entirely worthwhile if you've already beaten every tidbit on the N64 cartridge

well, marios up to it again in this remake of the classic N64 game. just with some new things like lugi and wario (yes, yoshi was in the first one). the same game but with more stars, stupidly fun mini-games and other new elements. the touch screen is difficult to use for playing, but its not required, unless your fighting bowser. a definate buy.
pretty good mario game

i've never really liked this as well as the side-scrolling Mario games, but nevertheless, it is quite entertaining, and the mini-games are a hoot.

Comments: Pretty damn good. I like the extended length of the game and the ability to play as Yoshi, Luigi, and Wario. My only problems are, they should have added more abilities exclusive to Wario, because he's kinda bland compared to the others. They also should have left in the 100 lives/sparkle jump for having all stars. They could have made a giant 1-Up mushroom at the top of the castle to grant it instead of Yoshi.

Better than the first, but I didn't really like either. Don't regret selling.

I didn't think Super Mario 64 could get any better. But I was wrong. New stars, new minigames, multiplayer, sharper graphics all on the go. Good luck putting this one down.

The first ds game in 3d of a old crummy 64 game with a kick in the rear, making it the best game to launch the ds with.

Very good remake of the original game for the Nintendo 64. It kept the same feel with some new small additions that kept the game up. A must have.

The classic N64 one-hit wonder returns with everyone's favorite plumber! This time, with enhanced graphics, Mario and Co. have to collect the power stars to rescue Princess Peach fro the evil Bowser (a.k.a King Koopa) The game play is addictive with the same exact, engrossing story-line. It's so nostalgic its like the first time you opened up your N64!!!

I must say...wow

Graphics: 5/5
Just beautiful, even for the DS, and a definite upgrade to the original.

Controls: 3/5
The only part i found slightly lacking. The touchscreen controls smoothly, but it's difficult to master playing with the touchscreen and buttons at the same time. The d-pad is easier to use, but not too accurate.

Concept: 5/5
Come on now, did you really think it would be nethin else?

Gameplay: 5/5
Just fun to play. A nice level of challenge without being too difficult. The new stars are nice (120 in original game, 150 in this one, and 151 with a glitch, but i guess that one doesnt count...) because it's really cool to have more than before. Nintendo did a great job of making you realize your not playing the exact same game with updated graphics.
