CONCEPT: The same old Mario Party idea - board game with mini-games... except with the useage of the WiiMote. 3/5

GAMEPLAY: Excellent - Every game in this series has always been "fun". With the addition of the WiiMote feature, this is the most fun one yet. 5/5

STORYLINE: Same old stupid story that all the other games in the series has. 1.5/5

SOUND: The sound is average. Nothing great, nothing bad. As many other games, the WiiMote sound ruins it. 3/5

REPLAY VALUE: If you;re playing friends, which you should be if you're playing this game, then Mario Party 8 will never get boring. 5/5

WORTH BUYING: Only if (again) you have a lot of friends to play with.

OVERALL RATING BASED ON ABOVE STATS: (about) 3.5/5
MY RATING: 4/5

Mario Party is a great game, espicially with two or more players. However, there is a lot of downtime, which knocks my rating from a 5 to a 4.

Disappointing... especially for the first Wii Version. It was very slow-paced for me and was not enjoyable like Mario party 7.
They should have included:
- Actual Mii Characters for the game boards
- Online play
- Faster paced
- Better design courses
- More intuitive game play

I'm sorry to say, i didn't like this game one bit. Can't wait for Mario party 9 though ;P
Just got the game on Wedneday and I love it. Although there are some boards that I am not too fond of. I love the new characters that they have. Do not know if they were in Mario Party 7 though.

Very Fun Game and a great Improvement from the last Mario Party games.

The Wiimote makes a PERFECT controller for the Mini games and each game I play is just as fun as the last.
Its also great with your friends on 4 player cause the Mini-games get really heated...trust me.
I almost broke my wiimote when I lost, the wrist-strap blew off, and the batteries flew out, but it's all good

Pretty fun game. Gets a little boring after everything is unlocked, but still worth the money. It has a good sort of story modish thing where you have to fight a bunch of characters on boards and then bowser in the end. My only complaint is the use of the wii remote, could be better.
man this game is so fun its the best in mario party games

It's wayyyy better than all the other Mario Parties. The mini games are awesome, and the boards are better.

I dont get the hype surrounding this game. The game is very simple and rather boring. Some of the mini games are fun, but they arent worth what you have to go thru to get them.

Prior to this I had only played Mario Party 2, and I really liked it. Mario Party 8 is great! The gameplay is fairly similar, but it's on the Wii, so it's got "the waggle". Good multiplayer game... but I haven't played it with fewer than 3 people, yet.
Lots of mini games, which are fun. The board game parts can get old, since you don't have as much control as with traditional games. Cool to get a big group together to play.

I was really hoping for more of the use of the wii remote for all of the mini games in mario party 8. Many of the games are even a down-grade from even mario party 4, not one of any1's favorites. In many games you are just forced to jump around in a small area flailing around amongst three other players in a small area, and like a squirrel unluckily under the bulk of a mid-sized american car, one foul jump will send you flying toward your death. The d-pad is not helpful in these specific types of minigames. The only gold found in this title is in the extra minigames bought with cards that you have to earn playing the first set of minigames. I was really hoping for a game more like the bob-sled races in the n64 games, except steering by tilting the remote. If you are willing to sit through many boring board games after another so in the end you can browse through the good ones found amongst the trash, buy this game. But if you are hoping for a game with constantly entertaining minigames like wario ware, this might not be a game for you. About half of the games or more are just a waist of time, and there are no more board extras like the roller coaster coin collecting in mp4. I would rent this one first and see if u like it. If u do, u really should buy it, after all, i'm not the boss of any1.
Not a solo game, You need beers, bats and buddys

Very fun. I enjoyed it very much. Although I do like the gamecube versions more. Ok in wiimote interaction section.

So far it really utilizes the Wii Remote. We aren't as crazy about the Boards on the Battle Royale - as some of them are frustratingly random (boo) or overly complicated (koopa). Overall a really fun game.
