De Blob is one of the best third party efforts every to hit out white little system, and is worthy of everyone's purchase. score: 9.3

Gameplay:

The game controls tight and blob moves like a dream. Moving is controled with the anolog stick of the nunchuck and jumping is done by flicking the Wii Remote up, which, In my opinion, is actually really good, despite what everyone else says. Keeps the action fast, it works well, and it makes it different, I think a button press would be boring.

Fighting off enemies is also fun, locking on with the Z button then slamming down with the wii remote is downright satisfying.

Graphics-

One of the best looking Wii games we have seen yet. Great Bloom, lighting, particle, everything looks fantastic. there are even some super crisp CG cutscenes that are humorus are awesome. One of the best looking wii games yet! Did I mention it runs at a smooth 60 frames?

Replay-

The game will last you over 10 hours, depends on how deticated you are.

I think I finish in roughly 17 hours or so, but I took my time trying to get every challenge, painting every building, and doing everything possible which is loads of fun and will expand the game a good 10 hours, not including the fun Party Mode, which I actually like alot. You'll want to play every level over again to get all the challenges!

Music-

Wow, this games music is awesome!! You can pick your mood, which is the music style, and the style will change depending on what you are doing, say your just running around the street, it might be smooth jazz, but when you start jumping around and painting the buildings, the tempo rises and it's wild, great music!

A unique concept, story may have its up and downs but its still very entertaining.

the only problem with this game is that if you're obsessive (like me), you have to paint EVERY building and complete EVERY challenge. it's getting all the buildings though that takes the most time. i'm not even kidding when i say it took me more than an hour to finish the first level. on the upside to this, the multiplayer mode is really fun. the game is a bit repetative, but it's at least worth renting, although i'm quite alright with owning it myself.

A really good 3rd party effort on the Wii.

Graphics: 9/10

Simply amazing. Great colors, bloom lighting, and art style. things can get a little blocky at times, but eveything else is great looking. (I'm still amazed at how good Blob looks). There are also hilarious, great-looking cutscenes that will really make you laugh. And it runs at a smooth 60fps

Gameplay: 9/10

The controls are great. The Z-targeting doesn't make the combat lousy at all, actually. (Even though it's the only way to attack enemies.) Blob controls like a dream too. The levels, on the other hand, could be better. You'll get lost on some of them, which will really make your blood boil. On others, you'll not see the obvious route to where you need to go.t makes the confusing levels worse is that the compass is horrid. It doesn't show that gate you just opened, which will really keep you going around in circles. An in-depth map would be nice. The levels are about an hour long each, but it starts you all over to the very beginning of the level if you turn off the Wii mid-level.

Variety: 8/10

There isn't much variety in the missions (but they're all so fun you'll almost not care), but you'll never know what surprises the levels will dish out. There are traps, big jumps, and other things that will ensure you'll have fun (but sometimes get frustrated along the way).

Sound: 10

Upbeat music will really get you going. The music is chosen by Blob's "mood", which you choose before you start the level. All of the music is great, it's like upbeat jazz music which adds more layers when you paint more buildings, and, when you paint a building, depending on what color you choose, it will add short pieces of it's own, like record scratches, guitar riffs, and more. The nonsensical gibberish (with a few real words thrown in sometimes) that the civilians speak also perfectly suits the mood of the game.

Overall:

Graphics: 9

Gameplay: 9

Variety: 8

Sound: 10

Overall score:

8.9/10

Great stuff. 5 stars. My only complaints... rather frustrating when you get 99% painted and can't find the bit you're missing... and no in-level saves as some levels take up to 2 hours to complete fully.

This game is one of the few great things THQ has done. The multiplayer mode is good, the story mode is intense, the controls are really interesting. The controls are pretty much wii-nunchuck-joystick done right, surprisingly.
However, I don't particularily remember it being very addicting.
