What country do you live in, and if applicable, what state?
I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia; A forest peninsula, surrounded by ocean, on the east coast of Canada.
How do you choose what Miis you're going to make? Do you have a process?
When I started making miis , I chose people who I like or admire (Morrissey, Zappa, Pryor, Kim Gordon etc.).Eventually I also added people who either (a) Are currently enjoying their 15 minutes of fame, or (b) Have distinguishing features.
Which Mii do you feel is your best so far?
I don't really have a single favorite Mii, but I'm pretty proud of my Morgan Freeman. He just came together really well, and I think it really looks like him.
What one (and only one) Mii piece would you add to the Mii Channel if you could?
It's hard to say, because the limitations of the program are what inspire creativity and variety in design. One of the most interesting aspects of this site is how people tackle a similar subject or idea in different ways. If I had to add one thing it would probably be wrinkles which you could manipulate and move around like the eyebrows. They could be used above or below the eyes to give the effect of heavy eyelids, or bags under the eyes, without having to make the mii look 80 yrs.old.
Do you do any sort of art by trade? What other creative outlets do you pursue apart from the Mii Channel?
Yes I'm in my second year of art college. Painting and drawing are my first loves, as well as sculpture, animation and video art. I also love to play crappy guitar and jam with my friends :)
What's your favorite experience with the Wii so far?
My favorite experience with the Wii was playing WiiSports tennis. I figured out that I could twist the remote to add top spin,, side spin, lobs, power shots etc. After that I was hooked on it, the same goes for bowling.
What game do you feel is missing from the Wii line-up most right now, given the Wii's unique control mechanic?
There is so much potential for the system to create entirely new types of games/genres that I think it has a really great future. One game I'd like to see is Punch Out! Wii because WiiSports boxing has terrible controls but it's still fun, if they make a boxing game with 1:1 control it would be amazing. Other ideas for games: Wii percussion game with drums, xylophones, tambourine, maracas etc. A fencing/sword fighting game would rock, and a new Mario Paint game would have endless possibilities as well.
Any additional props, plugs or comments?
Jose Nintendo: For creating an intuitive, well disigned and much needed site where everyone can share their work. And for being an all around nice guy.
Nintendo: Because they have the ability to take just about anything and turn it into a fun game.
Ali420: One of my favorite artists here, his miis are full of personality and charm. Keep up the good work!
Thanks to Mike for lending me 300$, and to Wdow for waiting out in the freezing cold to get the Wii. And thanks to everyone who left encouraging or helpful comments, MiiPlaza is a really great site and I'm glad to be a part of it.
