@celery: Oh ok. Thanks, cel! The 3DS I'm using isn't mine, so I didn't have the time to search thoroughly. If I get a chance to try again, I'll definitely do that. Thanks again!
@N8: I was taking pictures of the miis with my phone. :)
I was as skeptic as you, but my inner Nintendo kid was making me feel like crap for passing on a Zelda title.
And I'm definitely not dissapointed.
This time its not really waggling. It actually registers your every move and every sword slice is absolutely important. In fact, if you waggle your way around the game, you won't get past the first dungeon. It took me a while to get used to it, as I was just moving my wrist waggle-style during the first portion of the game. By the first hour my wrist hurt and I had died like 5 times. When I started using my whole arm to slash the sword, and putting thought into every move; I was completly immersed.
Every enemy you encounter you have to attack it a certain way. If you waggle and slice incorrectly, you'll inflict no damage, be stunned for a sec and the enemy will most likely counter. Most Zelda games are pretty easy, but I've been stumped a couple of times because the solution recquired to think HOW you're going to use your sword rather than just hitting a button to use it.
The controls are far from perfect, as there are some annoying things. Like controling moving objects and characters by titling around the controller. But, the controls are definitely not a gimmick this time around. They feel like an integral part of the experience and add a new awesome side to Zelda's swordplay and puzzle-solving adventure we've come to love.
I don't really care for 3D that much. I don't hate it, but I feel it doesn't add anything of value to my film viewing.
I deeply believe it is just a gimmick, and will rather not see them in 3D if I had the choce.
This is not because I dislike 3D or how far the technology has gotten. It's because film making is not taking 3D seriously. The creative minds behind films don't take 3D into account wen they're filming, at least not in a meaningful way. And we end up with an after work tacked on gimmick that only serves a marketing purpose. Yeah, sometimes watching films in 3D is "cool", but it is a completely forgettable experience.
Don't get me wrong, I would love for 3D to be meaningful. Sadly, its not.
I hear in the new Martin Scorsese's film Hugo, he uses 3D as an integral part of the story teling. I'd like to see that very much. Maybe he is the one to make a difference.
I like the name "The Boot and Shoe" for some reason. Though I wouldn't know what to say about the place as I've never been to England.
Here in Puerto Rico there are all sorts of places to go and get your drink on. I don't have pictures about the place but close to where I'm living now there's this place called "Hanna's Pub". Pretty cool place to play pool, have drinks and chill out with some friends.
But in San Juan there's this place called "El Ocho de Blanco" which is pretty nice. Everything is so cheap. Drinks and food. A burger, fries and a drink won't go much more than $5. The place is divided into 3 floors, the first floor is a lounge relaxed place, the higher floors are more party/crazy area.
I usually hang out at the lounge. I'm not much of a party person. When we go out, we usually like to relaxed and maybe play some pool. There's this place close to "El Ocho de Blanco" called "El Refugio. It's like a time warp into the 1930's in the island. You can come and play some Dominoes and drink some "Chachitos" (which is a house *****tail). Don't ask me what's in it, but its pretty awesome.
I wish I could relate to your establishments, celery, but our cultures are so different. It would be cool to hang out and relax at one of those places.

I'm not too fond of beer. I guess I haven't really tried that much different kinds, anyways. I usually see myself going back to Heineken or DosEquis.
I'm more of a *****tail drinker myself. When I feel like drinking anything neat, it usually is Whisky or Tequila.
Good to hear from all you guys. Been doing pretty good on my part. Got a job at the beginning of January, pretty much why I've been mostly away.
About the video editing question, N8. The best video editing software is Apple's "Final Cut". It costs $999, but if you are serious about video editing, THIS is the industry standard. A lot of major films are edited in Final Cut, many of them Academy Award winners and nominees. Don't be intimidated by this though, like many Apple software, Final Cut is SUPER easy to use. I learned to use and edit my first video for TV in Final Cut in about 1 hour.
Final Cut is only for MacOS and its pretty expensive. So if you're just in it for the fun, then you might want to get it from a "friend".
Another video editor is Adobe Premier. It's pretty good, Final Cut was formed by a team originating from Adobe Premiere. But Premiere ain't as user friendly as Final Cut. If you put some time on it, you'll get it down. But, from experience, Premiere ain't as intuitive. However its still a great software and it costs $800.
Those two softwares are purely video editing. Though you can pull off some pretty cool things with them, if you want to make green screen effects and more complex visual and special effects then you aren't going to be able to accomplish that with Final Cut or Premiere. At least not as easily. For that, there is no equal, Adobe After Effects is the beast. You can make pretty much any visual and special effect with Adobe After Effects. You can edit video in After Effects, but keep in mind that it was not made for that and its not a good video editor. After Effects costs $999.
That is my experience with video editing in the industry. The software is expensive. If you're heading a team for TV or film, then a $1000 here for editing ain't a big deal. But if you're you editing in your home for your friends, well Iv'e seen many opt for pirating. I've also heard a lot people talk about Sony Vegas editing software, though I've never used it. Still, Sony Vegas costs $600, and although its a little less than the others; I feel the money is better invested in some top of the line software.
If you don't want to buy anything or "borrow" anything, and just want free software... Then Windows Movie Maker comes with your Windows PC. It's utter crap, but it works. If you have a Mac, iMovie from Apple is amazing. For a free software, you can do some pretty amazing things in iMovie. If you don't have it, it shouldn't cost more the $40. iMovie has a lot based on Final Cut, seeing its from the same company. It's a pretty awesome software for beginners. It's MacOS exclusive though.
I hope that helped if not at least helped you sleep a while. :)

I don't know if this has been reported, but on multi-page threads, whenever I click on a page number it takes me to a "404 Error: Page not found" page. It happens with ALL multi-page threads. This means I can only see the first page of these threads.
Oh, wow. You've been pretty persistent, Yoshi. Last time we played was like 2 years ago when with my crappy internet connection. I have a better connection now and I look forward to battling you. Hopefully we'll arrange something when at a time where we're both online. Until then... :)
I believe what the Bible says.
The promise given to the deserving ones in the Bible is that they will live in a peaceful Earth. For example:
Let anger alone and leave rage;
Do not show yourself heated up only to do evil.
For evildoers themselves will be cut off,
But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth.
And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more;
And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be.
But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace - Psalms 37: 9-11
Even Jesus in his famous sermon of the Mount said: %u201CHappy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.%u201D - Matthew 5:5
The whole Bible talks about promising "everlasting life" in a peaceful Earth. Isaiah details what will happen in that new earth. For example, the Bible says that there would be no suffering (Revelations 21:4), that "at that time the lame one will climb up just as a stag does" (Isaiah 35:6), that "At that time the eyes of the blind ones will be opened, and the very ears of the deaf ones will be unstopped (Isaiah 35:5), that no one will be sick (Isaiah 33:24), that there will be no more food shortages or famine for "there will come to be plenty of grain on the earth; On the top of the mountains there will be an overflow." (Psalms 72:16) and read Isaiah 11:6-9 where it explains how in that promised Earth the animals will not be violent, rather "the sucking child will certainly play upon the hole of the cobra". These promises found in the Bible are an obvious reference to life in a peaceful Earth, for these are very earthly descriptions and not at all heavenly.%u2028%u2028
Yes, it all sounds fantastic. But its what the Bible promises and it makes sense. Isn't that what God envisioned for people in the first place? A peaceful Earth for us to enjoy?
Now... this is a very extensive subject which I could gladly go into detail with you. However, what we were talking about was death. And we do have a point of agreement. That there is something further than just eating, drinking and dying. However, I don't believe that promise of everlasting life is acquired exclusively after death. The Bible says that God will destroy the evil ones, like we read in Psalms a little earlier, and grant everlasting life to the righteous ones. This event (popularly know as Armageddon), however unlikely, has the possibility of happening in our lifetime. Of course, the reality is that for most of humanity, death is the end of it all. And everyone hopes for the words on John 5:28, 29:
"Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment."
One of the basic principles of Christianity, the resurrection. Those who survive Armageddon, will receive everlasting life. Those who died before it, are resurrected for life or for judgement. Notice that in these terms death is just a waiting game. The Bible does not define death as a blessing or as a gate to a new life. Death is a punishment. Death is an enemy. The Bible specifically says: "For the wages sin pays is death" (Romans 6:23). It is the result of unrighteousness. It is the opposite of life. THAT is why I say that death is punishment enough. And not just death, but death forever. For those who do what is right, even if they die, they can still be resurrected to a new life of peace. But does who have done evil, they have no such hope. Once they die, they die forever. They are non-existent.
You say you are living the small amount of time you have in this miserable world but with the hope that once you die there must be something that transcends our lowly conditions. Now imagine that you can not even have that hope. That the result of your existence is this miserable life. That once you die... you die. Done. Nothing more. Imagine you're one of those rapists or murderers or whatever. You had your momentary pleasure, coolio. But that's it. You know that's it. You raped, killed and maimed whatever you could in your miserable small years and your punishment is that... non-existence. Knowing you could have lived forever... but you chose to die forever.
My original claim was that hell is not necessary. According to the Bible, death is the wage of your sin. No hope of living.
